Bachelor in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology

 

The program combines both theoretical and practical components of study, and has been designed to offer to eligible candidates specialization in:

  • techniques and skills to diagnose and treat people with speech and hearing disorders
  • normal and abnormal aspects of voice, speech and language.
  • techniques used in identifying individuals with hearing loss.
  • differential diagnoses of auditory disorders.
  • diagnoses of disorders of middle ear, inner ear, auditory nerve, and the central auditor nervous system.
  • management of voice, speech, and language disorders.
  • Identifying and treating disarticulation, stuttering, speech and language problems.
  • treating hearing impairment, autism, laryngectomy, stroke/paralysis, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, and learning disorders.
  • eliminating speech and hearing disorders.
  • pursuing advanced research in the discipline.

Bachelor in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology is a 4-year long, full-time undergraduate, professional program, designed for eligible candidates having qualified the Senior Secondary (10+2) examination in the Science stream, from a recognized educational Board.

In its essence, the course involves the techniques and methods used in diagnosing and treating hearing, speech, and balance-related disorders in people.

The course is sub-divided into 6 semesters (3 academic years) of course work and 2 semesters (1 academic year) of internship.

Master in Audiology and Speech- Language Pathology

Students enrolled to the course are offered:

  • advanced lessons in audio and speech anatomy.
  • nuanced understanding of speech, language, ad hearing disorders.
  • training to effectively work Audiologists, Speech Therapists, etc.
  • theoretical and practical knowledge, and clinical skills in the specialization.
  • skills in research activities.
  • advanced lessons in:
  • speech perception
  • adult language disorders
  • physiology of audio
  • speech sciences
  • fluency and voice disorders, among others.
  • knowledge of recognizing and treating abnormalities in human speech and hearing.
  • transcription and linguistic skills.
  • skills need to diagnose test results.

Master in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology is a postgraduate-level course, the minimum eligibility for admission to which is the successful completion of graduation in a relevant discipline, such as:

  • BASLP
  • B.Sc. (SP & HG)
  • B.Sc. (HLS) from an RCI-recognized institute, with a minimum aggregate score of 50%
